the IPhone is with Softbank, and I really hate their customer service. As far as the Japanese phones go, it depends on you, do you know kanji and hiragana or are you getting one of the crummy bilingual phones that they have? I don’t recommend those. My advice? Buy an Iphone there (they’re cheaper), jailbreak it and either get Skype for it or sign up for a company that isn’t Softbank.

i think you should get a phone from japan… because it looks better and they are cheaper then Iphone and still works as well as an Iphone….. like one from a "NTT DOCOMO" shop in Japan!

there are 3 main providers of mobile phone services in japan. docomo,kddi, and softbank. softbank is the company that provides the i-phone in japan and have recently been gaining subscribers at the expense of the 2 other companies. go to a mobile phone shop, check out the phones and the payment plans and make your own decision

okay, well. you could get a iphone. In japan they have a pricey company named DoCoMo they are the future iphone company, haha. anyway docomo can be expensive BUT if you wanna get something differant thats japanese, deffinately go with docomo. also here is a site. The DTMF tones work during the call with the GE 2810EE1 and the Belkin Wi-Fi Phone for Skype ( F1PP000GN-SK ). Both work well, but not perfect. Sometimes, if the connection is weak (slow), I have to re-enter a tone sequence.

You - meaning you personally installed hard drive and MB? Cuz if you did it yourself, you need to get your manual(s) out and check all of the jumper settings, configurations, and boot ups settings, lots more……….

If you didn’t do the install - run fast as you can back to the place that did the install.

i think verizon does my family has 4 fones 2 are blackberrys and are bill is not very high at all
